Healing & Reflexology

Healing

Healing involves the channelling of universal energy through the hands of the practitioner to the recipient. Healing is a natural, non-invasive holistic approach that holds the intention of encouraging your own innate self-healing process, to bring a sense of wellbeing and peace.

In person healing involves the light placing of the hands on the body in a safe and appropriate way. Or the hands may be held off the body. Healing does not involve massage or manipulation

Healing is not associated with any denomination or belief system.

The intent of healing is to catalyse one’s own inner resources to restore balance physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Healing can be used as a one off session, or longer term sessions may yield deeper gains. Please see price list for session rate.

Distant healing can also be arranged at mutually agreed times with feedback before and after. Distant/remote healing is currently on a donation basis.

Reflexology

Reflexology is based on the belief that certain areas of the feet correspond to different areas of the body, like a ‘map ‘of the body on the feet. The reflexologist uses a specific acupressure technique using thumbs, fingers and knuckles to these points with the aim of restoring balance to the body, encouraging deep relaxation and a return to well-being.

What to Expect

On your first longer session you will have a health and lifestyle consultation to ensure reflexology is right for you, followed by the treatment. At the clinic you will be asked to remove your shoes and socks and lie on the treatment couch provided. The feet are then cleansed with wipes or surgical spirit before applying either a fine powder, cream or oil/wax to help provide a free-flowing treatment. The session starts and ends with a gentle foot massage and stretching of your feet and ankles.

As the treatment progresses a variety of different techniques will be used to ‘work’ the Reflexology points on each foot, including a caterpillar-like movement called thumb –walking. A full holistic treatment of both feet will be given with extra attention to some areas according to your individual needs.

Benefits of Reflexology

Reflexology can help relieve anxiety and tension, encouraging relaxation, improve mood and quality of sleep. Some people use reflexology to help them cope with many other specific health challenges which advertising laws prevent me from listing.

To gain maximum benefits a course of sessions is advised at weekly intervals followed by maintenance sessions periodically. However, reflexology can also be given as a one-off treatment for blissful relaxation.
